His first film as editor was Mission Kashmir (2000). He made his directorial debut with comedy Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003). He went on to direct and produce films like Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, PK, Saala Khadoos, Sanju. His upcoming venture is Munna Bhai 3, the third installment of Munna Bhai franchise.
